Tom’s trouble starts before he even knows who she is. His first look at her is an admiring one; his second is the realization that this is his brand-new mother-in-law. From there the honeymoon becomes a contest of nerves. Ava wants her mother gone, her mother wants to stay close, and the door between the two rooms keeps reminding everyone just how close that is.

Ava goes off to take a bath, telling Tom not to let her mother stay too long. Her mother lingers anyway, telling him she did not travel this far to lounge by the pool, but to be sure her daughter is properly looked after in every way.
Episode 2: Since the wedding (no cost, account needed)
The second episode jumps to a quiet, guilty conversation between Tom and his mother-in-law. He says he should not be there; she observes that he is there all the same. When he points out that Ava is both his wife and her own daughter, she replies that she is aware of that, and that it is exactly why this is fun.
Tom worries that Ava will overhear. Her mother says Ava will hear nothing as long as he keeps his voice down, then confesses she has been waiting for this since the wedding day, which is where the free portion of the honeymoon stops.
